The Art Of Disneyland and The Art Of Walt Disney World Resort Book Review

Today we I am reviewing 2 books at once. The first one is The Art Of Disneyland by Bruce Gordon and Jeff Kurtti

Disneyland is my home park so you might think that this would be my favorite of the 2 books. It isn't though. The reason I do not like this book as much is because it is divided into park sections which each section being given about equal space. The problem is some sections of the park like Main Street should not get as much space. I don't think there are many fans of the Omnibus.

Besides the overly large section for Main Street the book is great. It is one of my favorite Disney books of all time. It has amazing concept art. Some of the art Disney fans will be familiar with and can be found online. Some of the art though I have never seen anywhere else.

The Art Of Walt Disney World Resort which is also by Bruce Gordon and Jeff Kurtti is the book I prefer. They are roughly the same number of pages. In this book though they go by theme. Themes may be adventure, etc. I might have preferred a park by park theme but this allows them to explore similar areas. It also feature a large number of concept art pieces that will be familiar but many that are unique to this book and can not be found online.

Both Books are hardbound, large format, color photos, dust jacket. These are nice high end books that could be placed on a coffee table or a bookcase. The initial cover price reflects this. They were both sold originally for around $50. I remember seeing them at the parks and thinking about buying them but at the time that was pricey for me and I also didn't know which I wanted more. Fortunately I was able to get both for about this price a few years ago online. But even then that was a good deal. The prices of these books have only gone up.

The Disneyland book is the more reasonable book. You can usually find it for about $100. The Disney World version though goes from around $500-1000. While I prefer that I don't think I would buy it today at that price. The Disneyland one I would buy today if I did not already have a copy. While it might not be the better book right now it is the better deal.

If interested you can get the books below. They are affiliate links but you pay no extra costs for getting them through the links and it helps me out with the blog.
